A new trend has emerged in the automation industry—specialized platforms for hiring AI agents. One of the first such platforms, Job For Agent, already offers companies digital agents to perform various tasks. While the platform currently features only about ten agents, some have already been "hired" for work.
The idea for Job For Agent was inspired by a case from the startup Firecrawl, which posted a job opening for an AI agent with a salary of $10,000–$15,000 per year. In reality, Firecrawl was more interested in developers of such solutions, but this concept led the founders of Job For Agent to create a specialized service for selecting useful AI tools.
As real companies began subscribing to the platform, it became clear that a new niche had formed—tasks that could be delegated to artificial intelligence. Currently, Job For Agent is in beta testing and already offers AI agents such as a podcast editor, an SEO optimizer, and a virtual legal assistant.
At the same time, the platform’s developers recognize the limitations of modern AI agents. In most cases (about 95%), companies do not need a fully autonomous AI agent—traditional automation tools are sufficient.
Interestingly, the Job For Agent website itself was developed with the help of AI agents, but key processes such as communication with companies, developer verification, and job postings remain under human control. One of the founders, Stanukh, personally communicates with clients and developers, as personalized messages have proven to be more effective.
As for Firecrawl, their experiment with hiring an AI agent has yet to yield the expected results. Despite receiving 50 applications, none met their requirements. The startup now plans to post a new job listing with a more detailed description of the tasks the AI agent should perform. In the long run, Firecrawl envisions that every employee in the company will use AI to some extent in their work.
